Environment Day...

At Jeevs office they have a group of people who work towards making the planet greener, by planting trees every weekend. Last Saturday(June 5th) coincided with the world environment day, and they decided to plant trees along the outer ring road. This being a convenient location for us, we decided to join hands for this cause.

This also made us start our weekend early, for us early means 7 O clock ;) We reached there at around 8:15. People were already in action. We started off carrying saplings from a car to the median, where they were to be planted. Every one seemed to be self motivated and were busy digging holes, carrying saplings, tree guards, water, twines et all... I did the less strenuous task of carrying saplings, removing them from their covers and helping with fixing the tree guards. Jeev did the more macho task of digging holes...

We managed to plant about 5 saplings. It was truly a satisfying experience, especially as we took the U-turn and rode past all the saplings that were planted that day.

On our way back as we came by my favourite "Old airport road" we thought someone might have planted these trees way back, and we are kinda repaying this debt by planting some more...
